A former British colony which lies in the centre of the Mediterranean, south of Italy and some 180 miles from North Africa. The language is a mix of Arab, Sicilian, Norman, Spanish, English and Italian. Maltese and English are the main languages and the teaching of English is now a major industry. Mild Mediterranean winters and hot dry summers mean students can visit at all times of the year.
